தங்கநிற சூரியன் தினமும் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து , பிரகாசமான ஒளிக்கதிர்களால் இருளைப் போக்குகிறது .பால் போன்ற மேகங்கள் அலைகின்றன . வண்ணமயமான பறவைகள் சிறகுகளை அடித்து காலை இசையைத் தொடங்குகின்றன . அழகான வண்ணத்துப் பூச்சிகள் மலர்களை சுற்றி நடனமாடும் . மலர்களின் நறுமணம் தென்றல் காற்றை நிரப்புகிறது . இத் தென்றல் மென்மையாக உலவி எல்லா இடங்களிலும் , எல்லாப் பொருள்களிலும் மகிழ்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது .

.4 .Respected ladies and gentlemen , I am IIangovan studying tenth standard .I have come here to say a few words about our Tamil culture . Sangam literature shows that Tamils were best in culture and civilization about two thousand years ago. Tamils who have defined grammar for language have also defined grammar for life. Tamil culture is rooted in the life styles of Tamils throughout India. Srilanka , Malaysia ,Singapore , England and Worldwide. Though out culture is very old , it has been updated consistently . We should feel proud about our culture .Thank you one and all .
மதிப்பிற்குறிய சகோதர சகோதரிகளே ! என் பெயர் இளங்கோவன் . நான் பத்தாம் வகுப்பு படித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன் . நான் நமது தமிழ் கலாச்சாரத்தைப் பற்றி சில வார்த்தைகள் இங்கே கூறுவதற்கு வந்துள்ளேன் . தமிழர்கள் கலாச்சாரத்திலும் நாகரிகத்திலும் சிறந்து விளங்கியதாக ஈராயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே சங்க இலக்கியங்களில் எடுத்துக் காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது . தமிழர்கள் மொழிக்கு இலக்கணம் வகுத்ததைப் போலவே வாழ்க்கைக்கும் இலக்கணம் வகுத்துள்ளனர் . தமிழ்ப் பண்பாடு இந்தியா , இலங்கை , மலேசியா , சிங்கப்பூர், இங்கிலாந்து என உலகளாவிய தமிழ் மக்களின் வாழ்க்கை முறையில் வேரூன்றியுள்ளது . நமது பண்பாடு மிகவும் பழமையானது என்றாலும் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்டுக் கொண்டே இருக்கிறது . நாம் நமது கலாச்சாரத்தை பற்றிப் பெருமை கொள்வோம் .

Devi: Yeah.we have to save electricity.
Malar: Our nation spends a lot of electricity for lighting up our streets in the night.
Devi: Who Knows? in future our country may launch artificial moons to light our night time sky!
Malar :I have read some other countries are going to launch types of illumination satellites near future .
Devi : Superb news! If we launch artificial moons they can assist in disaster relief by beaming light on areas that lost power!
மலர் : தேவி , நீ அறையைவிட்டு வெளியே செல்லும் போது விளக்கை அணைத்து விடு .
தேவி : ஆம் . நாம் மின்சாரத்தை சேமிப்போம் .
மலர் : நமது நாடு நிறைய மின்சாரத்தை வீதிகளில் விளக்குவதற்காக செலவு செய்கிறது .
தேவி : யாருக்குத் தெரியும் ? வருங்காலத்தில் நமது நாடு வானத்தில் செயற்கை நிலாவை நிறுவி விளக்குகளை எரிய செய்யலாம் .
மலர் : சில நாடுகள் இது போன்ற ஒளியூட்டும் செயற்கைக் கோள்களை விரைவில் நிறுவதாக நான் படித்திருக்கிறேன் .
தேவி : அற்புதமான செய்தி ! நாம் செயற்கை நிலாவை நிறுவினால் , இயற்கை பேரழிவால் பாதிப்பு ஏற்படும் போது அந்த பகுதிகளில் மின்தடை ஏற்படும் பொழுது விளக்குகளை ஒளிரச் செய்யலாம் .

7 . Koothu
Therukoothu is , as its name indicates , a popular form of theater performed in the streets .It is performed by rural artist .The stories are derived from epics like Ramayana , Magabharatha and other ancient puranas .There are more songs in the play with dialogue improvised by the artists on the spot .Fifteen to twenty actors with a small orchestra froms a Koothu troup . Though the orchestra has a singer , the artists sing in their own voices .Artists dress themselves with heavy costumes and bright makeup .Koothu is very popular among rural areas .

தெருக்கூத்து என்பது , அதன் பெயருக்கேற்ப வீதிகளில் நடத்தப்படும் ஒரு புகழ்பெற்ற திரையரங்கம் ஆகும் . இது கிராமியக் கலைஞர்களால் நிகழ்த்தப்பட்டது . இதற்குரிய கதைகள் இதிகாசங்களான இராமாயணம் , மகாபாரதம் மற்றும் புராணங்களிலிருந்து எடுக்கப்படுகிறது . அந்த நேரத்தில்நிறைய பாடல்களும் உரையாடல்களும் கலைஞர்களால் நிகழ்த்தப்படுகிறது . 15 முதல் 20 கலைஞர்கள் சிறு இசைக்குழுவாக கூத்துக் குழுவில் இருப்பார்கள் . இசைக்குழுவில் பாடகர் இருந்தாலும் , கலைஞர்கள் சொந்தக் குரலிலேயே பாடுகிறார்கள் . கலைஞர்கள் சிறந்த உடை அலங்காரமும் பளிச்சிடும் ஒப்பனையும் தாங்களாகவே செய்து கொள்வார்கள் . கூத்து கிராமப் புறங்களில் மிகவும் புகழ் பெற்று விளங்குகிறது .

Among the five geographical divisions of the Tamil country in Sangam literature ,the Marutam region was the fit for cultivation ,as it had the most fertile lands .The properity of a farmer depended on getting the necessary sunlight ,seasonal rains and the fertility of the soil . Among these elements of nature ,sunlight was considered indispensible by the ancient Tamils .

பூகோள அடிப்படையில் ஐந்து நிலப் பிரிவுகளாக தமிழ்நாட்டில் சங்க இலக்கியத்தில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள மருத நிலப் பகுதியே , உழவுத் தொழிலுக்கு மிகவும் ஏற்றதாக இருந்தது . விவசாயிகளுக்கு தேவையான சூரிய ஒளி, பருவமழை, மண் வளம் ஆகியவை கிடைக்கிறது . இயற்கையின் இத்தனைக் கூறுகளிலும் சூரிய ஒளியே உயர்ந்ததாகப் பழந்தமிழர்கள் கருதினார்கள் .

9 . Once upon a time there were two beggars in Rome . The first beggar used to cry in the streets of the city , " He is helped whom God helps ".The Second beggar used to cry . "He is helped who the king helps " . this was repeated by them everyday .The Emperor of Rome heard it so often that he decided to help the beggar who popularized him in the streets of Rome . He ordered a loaf of bread to be baked and filled with pieces of gold . When the beggar felt the heavy weight of the bread , he sold it to his friend as soon as he met him . The latter carried it home . When he cut the loaf of bread he found sparkling pieces of gold . Thanking God , he stopped begging from the day . But the other continued to beg through the city . Puzzled by the beggar's behaviour , the Emperor summoned him to his presence and asked him , "what have you doing with the loaf of bread that I had sent you lately ? " The man replied , " I sold it to my friend , because it was heavy and did not seem well baked " Then the Emperor said . "Truly he whom God helps is helped indeed ." and turned the beggar out of his palace .
ஒரு காலத்தில் ரோம் நகரில் இரண்டு பிச்சைக்காரர்கள் இருந்தார்கள் . முதல் பிச்சைக்காரன் தெருக்களில் " கடவுள் யாருக்கு உதவுகிறாரோ , அவனே உதவியைப் பெறுவான் " என்று கத்திக் கொண்டு செல்வான் . இரண்டாவது பிச்சைக்காரன் " அரசன் யாருக்கு உதவி செய்கிறாரோ , அவனே உதவியைப் பெறுவான் " எனக் கத்திக் கொண்டு செல்வான் . தினந்தோறும் இப்படியே சொன்னார்கள் . ரோமப் பேரரசர் இதைப்பற்றி அடிக்கடி கேள்விப்பட்டு , தன் புகழை ரோம வீதிகளில் புகழ்ந்து கூறியவனுக்கு உதவ முடிவு செய்தார் . ஒரு ரொட்டித் துண்டின் உள்ளே தங்கத் துண்டுகளை வைத்து தயாரித்து அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தார் . ரொட்டித் துண்டுகள் கனமாக இருந்ததால் முதல் பிச்சைக்கார நண்பனை சந்திக்கும் போதெல்லாம் விற்று விடுகிறான் . அதை வாங்கிய முதல் பிச்சைக்காரன் வீட்டிற்குச் சென்று , வெட்டிப் பார்த்த போது " ஒளிரும் தங்கத் துண்டுகளைக் கண்டான் " . அன்றே " கடவுளுக்கு நன்றி " கூறி விட்டு பிச்சை எடுப்பதை நிறுத்திக் கொண்டான் .
இரண்டாம் பிச்சைக்காரன் மீண்டும் தெருவில் பிச்சை எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தான் . பிச்சைக்காரனின் இந்த செயல் அரசனுக்கு புதிதாக இருந்தது . உடனே அவனை அழைத்து " நான் உனக்கு அழித்த ரொட்டித் துண்டுகளை என்ன செய்தாய் ? " என்று கேட்டார் . அதற்கு அவன் "நான் அதை என்னுடைய நண்பனுக்கு விற்று விட்டேன் , ஏனெனில் அது அதிக எடை கொண்டதாகும் , சரியாக வேகாமலும் இருந்தது " என்று பதில் கூறினார் . அதற்கு அரசன் " உண்மையில் கடவுள் யாருக்கு உதவ நினைக்கிறாரோ , அவரே உதவியை பெறுகிறார் " என்று கூறிவிட்டு , அந்தப் பிச்சைக்காரனை அரண்மனையிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றினார் .
